ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK

County Commander’s Project: Vets Center

Edward Jackson, 2022-2023 Oneida County commander, donated $555 of his county commander’s project fund to the Utica Center for Development, which carries out the mission of the Central New York Veterans Outreach Center. In the above photo, Jackson and service officer Pauline Bright presented a symbolic check on June 10 to Vincent Scalise, founder and executive director of the Center for Development and Veterans Outreach Center.

Jackson said he selected the center for several reasons:

• “their work with vets in the community.”

• “they provide wholesale access to the center to community organizations.”

• “they took in” Harold Provost Post 1686, when the post needed a place to meet, and “hosted a youth dance group” the post sponsored.
