The Oneida County American Legion hosted an informational meeting for local high school juniors who will be attending Boys State at SUNY Morrisville June 28 through July 3, 2024.
High school students are chosen through a rigorous application process. Boys State immerses them in a comprehensive citizenship and leadership training program. Participants learn the practical aspects of government as it exists in New York State.
There will be 22 boys representing the county.
Holland Patent American Legion Post 161 Commander Albert LaCombe is the Oneida County coordinator and the Holland Patent Post hosted the informational meeting.
“Thank you to all the Legion Post chairmen for getting these young men selected,” noted Oneida County Commander Michael Wakefield. “I would also like to thank Alby LaCombe for all his hard work. Great Job!”
